Dollars & Sense has spent a lot of time struggling with different methods for shipping magazines to our international subscribers. We ended up, thanks to subscriber Paulie Pena, with a Firefox extension that allows us to create and print US Postal Service customs forms in batches. It has saved us lots of hand cramps!

And we wanted to share the joy with our fellow independent media types. If you're looking for an easy way to make lots of customs forms at once just open up a Firefox browser and download the extension. Then you upload your international subscriber list, fill in a few fields, and click a button—and the extension gives you a batch of customs forms in pdf format.

Right now, we print them on plain paper and use a glue stick to attach them to our packages. But we're lobbying Staples to start making printable customs-forms labels. If you would also like such a thing, you should let Staples know.
