And on policy matters, why do you suppose that &quot;real expertise&quot; is needed?  Do we live in (or do we want to live in) a technocracy or a democracy?  I think any average citizen is qualified to discuss potential policy options, and a scientist who knows about climate change should certainly be allowed to weigh in.  --CS</description>
